Ever felt different? Yeah you won't feel that way after I've finished telling my story. I'm Blake or rather I was, now I'm midnight but that will all be explained just let me start at the beginning...
"Oh Blake, they're beautiful." Amber said giving me a hug. Amber's my girlfriend, with her long blond locks cascading down a perfect figure this was a girl any lad would love.
"Aww, Amber. Really it was nothing." I replied
"But how'd you know that I love white lilies?"
"You know just a lucky guess." she gave me another hug.
"So what now?" I asked
"How about a bit of love?" we kissed for a bit and then I left to walk home. It was a little dark when I left but I didn't mind. "Hey boy!" I looked around to see a pretty old looking guy that was dressed like a mad scientist; maybe he was missing some sort of gaming convention. "Err sir? Are you OK?" I asked trying to help. Before anyone else said anything someone hit me from behind. Then I realized where I was, chained to some sort of metal table in a low tech castle like lab. "I am doctor spooks. You are going to be my minion after I have transformed you to my liking."
That old guy must be tapped in the head, I mean transformations aren't possible. Right? Before I could say anything I was shocked with giant lasers. Then all of a sudden lots of loud beeping signalled the machine was malfunctioning. As doctor spooks was running around franticly to fix his precious machine I slipped out and ran back home. As soon as I got home I passed out on my bed, sleeping.

When I woke up I was half asleep. I glanced over at my digital clock, which sat on my rather messy bedside table, it said 2:00am. Ugh, man it was early. I got up groggily and wandered towards the bathroom to grab a drink of water. As I was drinking I caught sight of the mirror and standing behind my reflection I saw a wolf furry with fur as black as the night sky, with wings like a huge demon beast and with horns that gently framed its face whilst being a deadly weapon. I became fully awake and looked around franticly to try and find this beast whilst its deep threatening voice rang in my mind.
"Heh. Well well well, what do we have here then? Just a pathetic human." This figment of my imagination was taunting and insulting me and I wasn't going to stand for it.
"What? How could you say that? I am not pathetic, I'm. I'm, err." I was lost for words. How could I argue with my imagination?
"Ha, you can't argue with me! Anyway, do you know what? You're cursed, that laser you were shot with gives a slow molecular change. So in conclusion, day by day the changes will occur and you will eventually change from your weak and pathetic human form to me, a much stronger  lupine form!" scared I dropped my cup and ran back to my room but the voice of that unknown wolf furry followed in my mind.
"You can't run from the truth, you're cursed and that's that so get used to it. You are going to change form that weak form to me" with a maniacal laugh the voice faded away leaving me to uneasily get back to sleep. As soon as I had fallen asleep I had a vivid dream that I was that nameless wolf furry with so much power and so much pain and so much loneliness.

The next morning I awoke late and got up to grab a drink and brush my teeth. After I had swilled my mouth out with water I gave a toothy grin to see if I had missed anything and I was stunned because my teeth looked more like fangs. I looked away for a split second then looked back, something was on my throat. I felt the silky object; it was fur that shimmered dully in the late morning sunlight that shone through the small window. As I was freaking out my ring tune gave me another shock. It was Amber calling to see if I was still coming round to see her. I rushed my every word to finish the conversation as fast as possible and in a split second I had agreed to meet Amber at her house. After Amber had hung up I cursed myself but I couldn't stand to see her standing alone outside waiting. In a blinding rush I got dressed and wrapped a scarf around my neck to hide the silky black fur.

Amber greeted me at her door with a hug and a mystery present.
"You know your birthday's tomorrow? How about you open your present early?" Amber insisted.
"Ok let me open it!" I said enthusiastically as I ripped though the brightly coloured wrapping and into the small box, a small steel wolf lay in the box with its solid pelt glittering in the light and its small crystal eyes glinting. I lifted it out of its tissue paper home and examined it, as it turns out the wolf was actually a necklace which I swiftly put on.
"Wow, it looks great." Amber said. I agreed with an undesired irrepressible urge to scratch my neck. I needed to have a look but I couldn't with Amber watching so I made up an excuse that i had a lot of homework to do and left.
On the way home the unknown wolf furry gave an evil laugh at the back of my mind.
"Heh. She's a cute one, too bad you'll have to leave her in the advanced stages of the changes because you'll be too violent to be around anyone."
"Can't you just leave me alone?!" I yelled through gritted teeth.
"You can't stand that you'll become me can you?" through the rest of the journey home the furry informed me of things I didn't care to know. As I got through the door my neck began to itch intensely. In a desperate attempt to relieve the pain I ripped off the scarf and my shirt to see the silky fur had spread, covering a lot of my chest in an equally silky fur but this fur was lighter and more of a grey colour. I was shocked beyond all reason; I had to calm myself down somehow, so I lay down on my bed and slept for a short while.

When I woke up my nose felt a mile in front of my face. I walked up to the mirror that hung in the bathroom to inspect what had happened. I was shocked at what my reflection revealed. I didn't even recognise myself because what stood before me was a wolf furry. However, unlike the nameless wolf who invaded my thoughts, I had now horns, wings or a tail of any kind. I stood there motionless for a few moments. Eventually I came to my senses and said two solid words "oh gosh." This new found voice was deeper that my usual voice. As I was failing to comprehend my current situation my phone rang, it was Amber.
"Erm Amber? I. I need a little more time before I'm ready for you to come round."
"Blake? Is that you?" Came the reply.
"Yeah. Its just I've recently caught a cold. I'm just a little sick is all."
"Well, I'm going to come over to keep you company and make you feel better."
Before I said another word Amber hung up the phone as I awaited her arrival.

Within the short time I had been waiting, my current condition had become more and more advanced leaving me a full wolf furry. Now there were only three factors that would complete the transformation. I began to think sarcastically to myself, "Oh yeah. Give an ordinary guy fur, fangs and a tail which would probably destroy his life. Fantastic."
As I was readying myself for Amber's arrival my nose began to twitch and I sneezed with a flurry of fire erupting from my mouth setting fire to the nearby armchair. I rushed into the kitchen and grabbed the nearest bucket of water and doused the flames. Realising the wolf furry was correct about me I sat down against a wall and buried my head in my arms.

As I was sitting feeling incredibly sorry for myself the door bell rang.
"Blake? Are you here?" Came the voice form behind the door.
"Don't come in!" before I finished my sentence Amber had walked in.
"Amber, I. I can explain!"  However, even with my desperate plea, she ran.
"What have I done?" I asked myself.
"I told you this would happen! Didn't I? So get ready for a life full of loneliness!" the wolf furry began to speak again. Ignoring this I tore through the house leaving it a complete mess as if the house was abandoned.

As night fell the final changes emerged, namely the horns and wings. I climbed to the top of an apartment block and looked out across the moonlit city. My eyes fell on the park below to see a girl with long hair running away with four thugs following her in hot pursuit! I felt a sudden need to rid this mystery girl of the thugs. I swooped down like a grandiose bird of prey and landed right behind the girl. Eventually I came to the conclusion that this anonymous girl had something of value that the thugs had sought after.

"Well well well. What do we have here? Just four thugs trying to hurt this girl? And all for the paper in her wallet? Sadly that's not going to happen as I'm here." I sounded really threatening and looked incredibly intimidating. The thugs began to advance. I flicked out my claws and that scared them off. I turned to see the girl I had just protected to see it was Amber the love I had lost through no fault of my own. I had calmed enough to tell Amber how I felt.
"Amber...It's still me. Please. Just listen." I pleaded to her to try and regain her trust and faith in me.
"No, no you're not. You are a lone wolf, with fur as dark as the midnight sky and an equally black heart to match. "Amber movingly replied. She left just as rain began to fall. The rain gave the city a painfully sullen look that matched my mood as I slowly made my way back to my house that I had trashed in a grief stricken rage.
I was no longer the sweet sensitive boy Amber had loved. I was now a beast that could easily haunt a small child's nightmare. The boy I once was no longer exists so I decided to embrace the facts and I formed myself a new name, Midnight.

The last reminder of my human life was my phone. Just as I was about to rid myself of it a video message appeared on the screen. It was it was one who had caused my transformation, Doctor Spooks. As I watched the screen Doctor Spooks informed me that he had Amber.
I charged towards the castle where Doctor Spooks was. The dark derelict castle's doors hung weakly on rusty hinges. I strode confidently in to see...nothing not even a single piece of machinery. I was constantly on my guard, with ears pricked as if I could sense something hiding in the shadows, just lurking there ready to attack. Unfortunately I was correct as I stepped forward two huge yellow eyes stood from the darkness. The creature emerged slowly. But the fur and fangs said it all, it was a werewolf. In a ferocious battle I fought.

After an extensive and excruciating fight the werewolf had died. However I had also been hurt and I was lying across the stone floor with several potentially fatal injures. As I began to lose consciousness I saw a silhouetted figure at the cavernous door.
When I awoke I was chained to the metal table similar to my past encounters with Doctor Spooks. As that crazy scientist emerged from the obscurity I became infuriated. I gritted my teeth in a growl. Then a concealed incident caused me to change yet again. My black fur shifted to a brown colour my horns and wings disappeared and finally I burst from the chains too angry to care. I strode towards Doctor Spooks. Before I could land a hit on him a lit lamp caught my attention revealing my captive girl. My vision clicked back to Doctor Spooks as he threw a switch activating a devastating beam of light aimed at Amber. Too angry to stop the machine I tore doctor spooks limb from limb in a bloody rage. By the time I had calmed down and returned to my original form Amber had died. I broke down with tears streaming down my face. I unclasped the chains around Amber's lifeless wrists and held her in my arms and gave a long grief-stricken howl which echoed through the walls of the castle. The acts I had committed had lost me the most beautiful girl I had ever known all because I was too angry and too stupid to stop the very machine that had been used on myself. The thick layer of dust across the floor was only broken by the gathering pool of blood that immersed Doctor Spooks' lifeless corpse. The once crisp white of the scientific jacket was now a deep red. Now the reign of midnight has begun.
